Is Children in Need's 'Around the World in 80 Days' Challenge entirely pointless, or just a waste of money?
I watched Lee Mack and Frank Skinner’s leg last week, but I won’t be watching it again. I don’t really see the point of it. It’s all planned out so there’s no surprises and it’s kind of annoying to see s’lebs acting like hotel door cards are a big problem when all they’re doing is being driven around all day…

Your thoughts?
Hi there.
Don’t limit yourself, it is BOTH pointless and a waste of money. Not to mention a burden to global warming.
Looks like the gimmick barrel is running a bit low…
Cheers, Steve.

I’m enjoying watching it for the joy of seeing countries I’ll never go to. It’s for charity at the end of the day, and that’s a good thing in my book. I’m looking forward to seeing John Barrowman on there.

It’s very good entertainment and the second one with the two out of the Apprentice was very good. That Saira is actually quite funny as was Nick surprisingly. Whether it’s of any value to Children In Need as such, I don’t know. But it’s value to me in the form of entertainment.

All of these celebrity jaunts are a waste of money.
A free holiday and looking good into the bargain—Any self-respecting B/C list celeb would jump at the chance !!
I never watch any of them—-I hate being told ”Right next Friday is the day to be charitable”
I have much more respect for the average guy who does something for C.I.N -Taking time out of their day and not doing it for exposure

thought provoking WHY are children still in need in the U.K.
Surely that is the question the BBC should be asking.

Ill-conceived, badly executed, pointless, waste of space (in the scheduling). Too many "journeys" lately. There were 2 journeys in Oz currently on. Repetitive and unimaginative. One of them is a pale shadow and copy of Billy Connolly’s journeys and shows. That chap with the black long hair (another copy) is not funny and lacks the wit and timing of the master.

I am with you all the way on this. It really winds me up to see these overpaid and privileged ‘celebs’ flown all around the world on a jolly supposedly raising cash/awareness for charity, yet we all know it is just for their own shameless benefit and self publicity. The BBC Radio 1 ‘climb’ up Kilimanjaro was another, a back up crew of 90 people to nurse some z list ‘celebs’ up a mountain and guilt trip us into reaching into our own pockets! Gary Barlow then flew them all home on private jets! GRRR!
And it is all footed by us mugs, the TV licence payer.
